Co-owner, Renee Carpenter AAF TMFA is a Past President of The Allied Florists of Houston, was honored as Outstanding Member of the Year 1999-2000, and received the Buddy Benz Distinguished Service Award in 2006. She chaired the membership committee and public relations committee for over five years. Renee Carpenter AAF TMFA earned the Texas Master Florist designation at the Benz School of Floral Design at Texas A&M University and her advanced designation in 2002. She was the recipient of the Texas Floral Endowment's Allied Florists of Houston 2000 scholarship and the Southern Floral Company's 2007 scholarship, both presented through the Texas Floral Endowment. She received the People's Choice Award in 2006 for the Allied Florists of Houston Tablescapes Competition.   MC Florist is an active member of the Allied Florists of Houston, the Texas State Florists Association, The Society of American Florists, The Society for the Advancement of Floral Design. Renee and her mother, Mary Lou Nix, maintain the Allied Florists of Houston web site. Mary Lou also chaired AFH's Internet Committee for over ten years, including building the organization's first web site in the early 90's. Renee also edited the Texas State Florists Association's TMF/TMFA quarterly email newsletter and contributed to the TSFA Bloomin' Texan magazine for many years.  MC Florist is a Teleflora Top 500 member. Renee is a former member of the Board of Directors for Teleflora's South Texas Unit. MC Florist also maintains an associate membership with the Texas Dept. of Agriculture. The Go Texan promotion assists many involved in Texas based agricultural programs.
  Memorial City Florist celebrated its 30th year in business in 2005. In 2011, Memorial City Florist moved to our new location and became MC Florist. We currently have three generations of our family involved in our daily operations, so we are truly family owned and operated. Our motto is "Casual elegance with a personal touch".
